Avira Best Price Shopping bar started appearing in Chrome - how to remove!?
AbgeschlossenHi,
In the past week or so, the Avira Safe Shopping bar started appearing at the top of the browser when I search certain products. I am using Free Avira but this seems like a terribly annoying way to try to make me me click on Avira's affiliate links. It's very disruptive to my work, which involves researching many products.
Can anyone help me get rid of this horrible feature?
If I can't get rid of it, I'm changing antivirus programs.

Same problem here. Because of the free license, I'm not able to contact the support to ask for a "how to remove".
This plugin (or whatever) is annoying, so im deleting avira

No, that was the first thing I tried. And, unfortunately, that comment just demonstrated that Avira has no idea why this is happening. Reddit was already complaining about a similar issue with Avira about 7 months ago... Not sure what's going on
:-( Not looking good.1 -
This thing started to appear in my Chrome browser yesterday. Took me ages to find a way to turn it off, but it wasn't hard. I'm still annoyed about it appearing in the first place. I never activated it. And only found out how to deactivate it by reading a Youtube comment.
I got rid of it by clicking the Avira symbol (a little red shield) next to the URL bar in the Chrome browser. When you click it, a little window appears. There's a gearwheel symbol in the upper right corner. Click it - at the top of the list you can see the option of deactivating that shopping bar. It worked for me. Hope it helps.

THANK YOU!!!! And Avira itself couldn't tell me this info because...?
Same here: I never activated the thing - it just started on its own. I don't know whose stupid idea it was, but they need to learn a thing or two about customer service and trust.
I still might start looking around for other solutions.0 -
Thank you for the solution.
The shopping bar alone was annoying. But today the bar appeared when I wanted to watch videos on Youtube. It didn't appear on all videos but when it appears I couldn't watch the video in full screen. I got just a white screen then. Even when I closed the bar at the top.
So thank you again for this solution so i can watch videos in full screen again.

Thanks Kristina! This helped me out. This option to deactivate this annyoing offer thingy ist really hard to find.
Too bad, that Avira (paid version) enables this option automatically. Shame on you, Avira!
