Unsafe e-mail content

I recently renewed my Avira account since then many of the e-mails sent to me I am unable to open as supposedly they contain unsafe content, this includes attempting to open an e-mail that I sent. How can this be possible and how do I stop this nonsense? I have not had this issue in the past.
