How can I deactivate on demand scanner?

Hi! Sometimes this scanner starts and my computer frozen from hard disk usage! I can't stop it, I can't do nothing else, my computer is owned by Avira! What a really bad idea you had to introduce this automatic scan and don't let me the chance to deactivate it! I'm really thinking to uninstall Avira.
Please let us control our computer! Let me take the risk to don't scan nothing!!!

Hello BarabbaFurLAN,
you have the possibility to change the scanner priority and search process option in the Avira Settings.
Therefore you need to go to the Avira Settings and click on Computer Safety and then on System-Scanner.
Now there should be an Area called "Search process". And here you can checkmark the allow stopping so that you can stop the scan whenever you want. Also here you can check on which setting the Scanner Priority is set.
If it is set to high or medium you can try to change that to low and it should automatically use less hard disk and CPU usage but needs a little bit longer to finish the scan.

Thank you, I've found it, it was already checked the "allow to stop", but how can I stop that? Where is the option to stop the scan when it is running?

I selected the chance to stop it, today it started again.. but **no way to stop it!!** Where is the button to stop it?? AGAIN MY COMPUTER SLOW/UNUSABLE BECAUSE OF YOU, PLEASE HELP!!!!

I am sorry that the Solution doesn't help you out in this case.We need some further information that we can investigate deeper in that Problem to find a solution that works for you.Is it possible that you are using Windows 8 or 8.1 System? Or which System do you use?.
