avscan.exe applcation error in memory reference
Hello. New free Avira Antivirus user in Windows 7 Pro 64-bit environment here. I installed Avira AV on my primary (desktop) computer directly from the Avira web site download, then did a full scan (which was clean) without incident. I then used the "additional device" install to add it to my WIFI-connected laptop (same OS) and I had to restart the download processes several times before installation appeared to succeed. Once it did, I ran a full scan on the laptop. That appeared to complete, and found no infections, but I did receive two error messages:
avscan.,exe - Application Error
The instruction at 0x6e839a7c referenced memory at
0x000ecc9d. The memory could not be read.
Click on OF to terminate the program.
avscan.,exe - Application Error
The instruction at 0x6e839a6e referenced memory at
0x0a010500. The memory could not be read.
Click on OF to terminate the program.
Can anyone give me an informed opinion about what these errors indicate, whether they result from a hardware issue or a problem with the product install, and what steps I should take to remediate? Thank you very much in advance for any assistance you choose to provide.

Hello Sam,
Since I wanted to give you an informed opinion I first checked with the technical department.
It seems like the scan chrashed and it is possible that your RAM is damaged.
The best thing to do would be a RAM check, you can find various tools on the internet to do so.
If you want, feel free to let us know how it went.
Thank you and best regards,
