Avira phantom : tap adapter missing or not activated

hello, 

i tried to test again avira phantom but it does not work. when i try to active- connect i have message '' Tap adapter missing or nor activated'', ( in french because i m located in France).

first i installed fron the avira antivirus panel: above error. I uninstalled an reinstalled : same error I could not see the phantom version because not indicated! the avira antivirus is 15 0 2001 1707.

after i tried to install directly from avira web site. i got the folder Avira.VPN.2020.01.28-02.21.25.zip, installed it but same problrem.

i dont know exactly what is the th tap function. i looked in the windows network center, card parameters and i have 3 lines; web connection, local connection( not activated) for an other vpn and connection to local 7 not activated (tap windows adapter 9). i have windows7-64.

i remember i tested phantom any months before on same pc and as i remember it worked well...

has somebody a solution? thank you...

  thank you for your interest to my problem. However i have to tell you i have stopped now completely with Avira. The reason is avira antivirus was no more working since a few days. Antivirus did not started : error message ''avira CCPLG.XML file missing''. there was a repair message but the repair did not start. i removed all avira with revo, downloaded and installed avira_fr_froe3_468967201-1580250814__pavwws but same problem and also error 0x80070643. I have windows 7-64.
  sorry for this problem because i used Avira since several years and it worked well... until recently. best regards.

  I had the same issue but I fixed it with this method:

  1- uninstall Phantom VPN

  2- go to network network connections => win + R => ncpa.cpl => hit enter

  3- disable any tap connection that you see

  4- install Phantom VPN

  5- connect

  6- --enjoy--
