Were exceptions removed from free version?

I used to be able to do custom scans and set up exceptions so certain huge folders would not be scanned. Looking at the new version of Avira Security from several weeks ago with the all-new interface, I don't see how to do it anymore. I did manage to get to Custom Scan from Manage scans, and I can select what folder to scan; however, I cannot tell it *not* to scan a certain folder as I was able to before. Was the function removed in the big update or am I missing how to do it? Thank you.
