Avira has locked me out of my own PC
Cannot get through to Avira because all my account details are on my PC and I cannot retrieve them to get through to support unless I buy something. I played around with the security settings last night and when I went to log into my PC this morning it comes up with a "enter user name and password" that would be fine except I have never used one on my PC ever. I now have been locked out of my PC because I don't have a username or password to login. No windows services are operating to allow me to jump back to a restore point, I can't even even start the PC in Safe Mode or Command Prompt. How do I turn this thing off so I can get back into my PC. With this COVID-19 thing going on I am working from home and am totally messed up.

To be a little bit more detailed - I was in Speedup Pro => Tools
I clicked on something (can't remember exactly what it was called) on the left side of the screen. Once I did this it prompted me to restart or wait until later. I chose the later. But when I attempted to log in this morning I received the Username & Password screen.

I'm in the exact same situation. I was using a name and pin, but isn't recognizing them now. This is completely ridiculous!

Hi,
this could potentially be caused by an option in Privacy Pal as Armin Posch pointed out here:
https://support.avira.com/hc/en-us/community/posts/360009486177/comments/360001801798
@...: which operating system are you using? Do you have the possibility to use the system restore functionality of windows?

Hallo zusammen,

Was stellen Sie da um, liebes AVIRA-Personal?

Same problem. Schocked to see that this problem is going on for so long. I installed yesterday privacy pal and it no longer recognices my user name and password. It created a new one. Can no longer login into my winows pc but need to work as i work online. AVIRA Suppport is non existent. Bios does not held and Reset is not accesible. Nightmare Worst Product ever. And if you like to speak to Avira Custoumer Support you need to pay at least 29 pound for one of their products. Which when privact pal is allready causing that much problems I would not purchase when their product and costumer support is so bad.
