Can’t find technical information about the ios app

I can’t find the Avira’s website specific technical information about how the ios app works. I’m particularly interested in the web protection capability. How the app protects from malicious websites? Do I have to manually check the website after opening it in safari?

  What exactly the “website protection” action looks for in a website? How does it detect that is a malicious or fraudulent website?

  This feature sends the requested site to our cloud scanning service which scans this for malicious threats as well as phishing and other security issues.

  Thanks for the explanation.

  Have you thought about using a local vpn (like other web protection apps) to automatically detect malicious websites? This will remove the action from the users to open the website and then DON’T FORGET to check the website.

  It’s just a idea to get a better user experience.

  Hello Augustus,

  This is not just an idea, this is the way how it should work. Sadly, at the moment, due to limited resources we're not able to handle it in that way but be sure that we're not just thinking about.

  As we're revamping our Apps, in general, such a feature might on our roadmap. This might take some time but we're working for improving our app day by day.
