    Hi Peter,

    I've seen that one of my colleagues already replied to your Email request but I also want to take the chance to answer your post here so it might help out others who are having the same issue.

    In order to solve this issue I invite you to follow this procedure as a workaround:

    • Uninstall the application from your device
    • Reboot your device 
    • Reinstall the latest version available on the App Store
    • Log in with your Avira credentials
    • Try to perform a smart scan

    We are working on a better solution for this problem but for now, that's the way to go.
