What is the difference between 'Enable Subscription' and 'Install'?

Renewing Avira Prime is confusing.

I don't want a subscription, so then, should I purchase and download Avira Prime, then uninstall what I have, and then install Avira Prime. Or is there some other confusing why to pay for Avira Prime?
