    Hello Dennis.

Unfortunately, our normal Antivirus routine declares most of "user based scripts" or codes as malicious. That is also the reason why the .dll got flagged and quarantined. But as my understanding, they don't change the ownership rights at all.

There should be 2 Ways to solve the problem.

First one is to whitelist the Script / code or even the whole folder. You can find more information under the following link:

    https://support.avira.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002884254-How-do-I-exclude-files-or-processes-from-scanning-?utm_medium=TEMPLATE&utm_source=CS

Second one is to contact directly our virus lab team and sending them the file/s which are flagged.

They will check the file/s and send you additional information why it got flagged and how to solve this.

    To the Data Collection Officer.
Avira Operations GmbH & Co. KG

I need to uninstall your software completely as it is interfering with Apache and other web platforms on this machine, it is also clearly collecting user data. It is installed deliberately in such a way as to make an administrator uninstall either extremely difficult or impossible. It was installed originally by a family member and when uninstall was attempted it was found that this software takes measures to reinstall itself at reboot and denies access to a logged in administrator.

This situation is now deemed to be a security and data threat.

I would like to point out EU law in this matter which I am sure your data officers are very familiar with. Please see EU GDPR Article 61 for more details on consent retraction.

In line with such I am with drawing my consent for any Avira related software to collect and use any data about me, my family, my personal data or my actions on this computer. I want this software off my PC and I want it off right now. The cost of doing so for a small business is not light and should hiring a third party professional be required  I WILL be passing on the costs of this to Avira GmBH.

Please outline how to 'completely remove' all files, folders, references to registry entries, data collected and executables after install. Also under article 61 of the Eu' GDPR when this is accomplished and all Avira references have been confirmed to be removed please remove all references to, all data collected, all information stored on paper or electronic retrieval systems references to this user. Every single file installed by Avira, all references to Avira, everything.

Please supply a list of all data collected from this user so far, the intent at which this data is to be used, any and all third parties with which it has been shared.

Please do not 'filibuster' or 'gaslight' as is obvious in other comments and answers on this customer forum. These instruction should be as easy to follow as the installation of the software in the first place.

I am also giving fair warning that these action are subject to EU law, a point which I will be discussing with legal representatives in order to recover at least 16 hours of work while this machine will be locked down.

You have my email address, the only response I want to hear is a list of instructions.
A failure to do so is likely to result in whatever legal avenues are open including notification of this situation within 72 hours (48 remaining)  to the General Data Protection Directive representatives in the Republic of Ireland.

If a full reinstall of this machine is required then needless hours of work will be required and I will be seeking compensation for this as the actions to ensure this software was not easily uninstalled were deliberate and border on malicious. However since I am not a legal expert I cannot say, but I am sure a legal expert would know.

Thank you for you time and consideration in this matter.
    Regards
    Michael Wright

I have the same issue. I use godot game engine. After downloading compiler dependencies to create a build, avira free antivirus immediately blocked over 2500 files and put them in quarantine. Most of those are in parent directories and have nothing to do with the download. Anyway, after restoring them from the quarantine all the files and folders are blocked now (access denied). I have all privilleges in the normal windows system on this files and folders, but something suspicious from avira is blocking all of this in some way. When working on my project in the godot editor it throws now endless error messages because it can no longer save any settings due to lacking permissions.. What can i do now to unblock all those files and folders? I can no longer work on my project at the moment, please help!
