AntiVirus Update fails with message "Hook savapi3_post.sh failed"

I've installed Avira Free Antivirus 4.2.0.11 on my Mac (MacOS 10.14.6) on 19.12.2020. After the installation I tried to update AntiVirus from the menu in the system tool bar and got the following error message after the download finished:

 

Do somebody know how this can be fixed?

  Hello Christof,

  Using the search engine of my choice, under "savapi3_post.sh failed" we got
  the following post to view as a troubleshooting post:

  Maybe this will help in finding the error information.

  Hi!

  Thank you for the hint.
  I don't have a proxy in my network, but the LuLu firewall on my Mac.
  I've disabled LuLu, ran the Avira update, but got the same error from Avira, again.

  Have a peaceul Christmas, too.

  If run from the command-line, the script savapi3_post.sh outputs the following:

  Resetting AntiVirus whitlelisted alerts

  An error occurred in SAVAPI, please check the logfile

  If the Update is run from the toolbar, the following events are logged in the Console:
