I think I have a virus, HELP!
BeantwortetI turned on my computer today and my Avira Antivirus was gone. Some virus automatically removed it and installed a whole bunch of unwanted spyware in it's place including:
Avira Security
Phantom VPN
Opera
How can I get rid of this virus and reinstall my antivirus software? Who can we report this virus to, is there a government agency for that? How do we stop the horrible people who made this virus from doing it again?

Hello Allan,
It would be very helpful for us if you could tell us which OS and which Avira version (exact description) you have installed.
Without a detailed description of your Avira version, it is difficult to answer. In case of a virus attack you get a message, have you carried out a scan?
You can have this file checked again to be sure which malware it is.
https://support.avira.com/hc/en-us/articles/360001163189-How-do-I-submit-suspicious-files-and-URLs-to-Avira-Virus-Lab-Only according to your description, the "virus" - as you call them - could be the newly installed programs of a new version of the free Avira Security Suite.

In this version, the unknown installations described by you are an integral part of the version. This is the current version of Avira Free Security and replaces old installations.https://support.avira.com/hc/en-us/articles/360012607258-Avira-Security-succeeds-Avira-Antivirus
Please check your installation and look in your customer account at https://my.avira.com/en/auth/login for your installation.
We will be happy to assist you with exact details of your installation.
Kind regards

Same virus here, and same name, how cool!
I just removed avira and went with Kaspersky, problem solved.
