100% disk usage
AbgeschlossenSince installing Avira my computer has been running at 100% disk usage, 95% memory and around 60% CPU - for almost 24 hours. It makes it very time-consuming to do anything. Any suggestions before I give up and de-install it.
Background:
Windows 10 laptop, one hard disk, one network drive, dropbox, OneDrive, BT cloud.
I deactivted Avira a while ago because it was picking up false positives on the application I develop and quarantining each version from multiple locations.
I reverted to Windows Defender.
Yesterday I reinstalled Avira in the hope that it had a more accurate sensor for the supposed virus

Hello Bill,
Well, this sounds strange. Could you be so kind and provide these details at least:
- Your current hardware setup (RAM, CPU, e.g.)
- Details about your installed Avira version

Thanks for the response.
I de-activated Avira because it was a major contributor to the high resource usage.
But the problem persisted so Avira was not the sole cause.
The issue seems to have been caused by a recent Windows update to version 1909 which was incompatible with other software on my machine.
Once I had updated the BIOS and drivers and installed some additional Windows updates and stopped all unnecessary startup programs the problem was resolved.
In the meantime I switched to TotalAV which has lower resource usage than AviraBill

Thank you for getting back to us.
Maybe we'll see you again one day.
Have a nice day ahead.
