Avira Security slows computer after May 2021 update
AbgeschlossenHello, I've noticed the Avira Host Framework Service disk usage is very high most of the time! And it matches with the number of tasks that are running at the computer. It seems to keep monitoring all the time and exponentially the HD demand makes my laptop freeze. Even though I have an SSD + HD combination, it gets sluggish.
For example, if I'm using Google Chrome and open many tabs when checking Task Manager, I noticed that the demand is not from Chrome but this annoying Host Framework or even the OnDemand Scanner that drags back my computer resource.
What's worse, the Quick virus scanner cannot have its schedule changed, here's scheduled for Saturday at 11 am while I'm always working. There's a note saying it cannot be changed for "optimal protection". Isn't this a pain in the neck?
It matches with a recent update about a month ago. Avira used to be lightweight and smooth. Now it's dragging down my computer to an i3, though it's an i7.
Avira, can we get control of the Antivirus tasks so we won't be disturbed by useless resource eating processes? Or should I uninstall the software and look for competitors?
Can you please release a new update so that we can have control of Avira Security?
NOTE: I was really considering upgrading my plan but this put me in a very difficult position.

Hello Ricardo,
Well, this sounds annoying. Sadly, it's quite difficult to get a deeper insight into your issues here in a public threat. So as you're using a paid product of Avira, please get in touch with our support team as they have more possibilities to figure out what's wrong.
Best,

Hello Lukas,
I was actually a free licensed user of Avira Security.
I had also noticed that, after uninstalling Avira Security, my computer reboot reduced its timing by a factor of 5. And my SSD booting came back up. Was Avira security holding it back?
It seems Avira Security demands an HD high usage rate.I appreciate the support though.
BR,
Ricardo
