Zero files scanned, Zero threats found etc

Hi 

I did a Avira scan using the interface, and it says its complete but it also shows "0 file scanned" with 0 threats, 0 viruses etc. So i uninstalled and reinstalled the program on my mac desk top MacOS Sierra version 10.12.6, please advise what i can do to get it to work
