Running Junk Cleaner crashes Avira (Big Sur 11.6, MacBook Pro (15-inch, 2018))

I installed the free version of Avira last week. The virus scan features appear to work, but running Junk Cleaner causes the entire program to completely crash every time. I don't mean that it hangs -- it shuts Avira down entirely and throws error codes that get reported to Apple.

Why is Junk Cleaner not working at all?

(I also installed Avira last week on a different Mac running Big Sur 11.6 and it works perfectly well on that one, including the Junk Cleaner function).

  Well, this is quite weird behavior. Could you be so kind and provide further details about both macOS systems to see, where the differences are?

  Sure, what details to do you need? The crashing problem is still going on, by the way.
