    Here is an attempt to explain the variants:

    Phone - a conversation in real time over a telephone line.

     

    Online chat - this refers to electronic communication using written text in real time, usually over the Internet.

    Live chat is a tool, usually provided by an app or platform, that can be used to contact visitors directly in real time.

     

    Email - a time-independent written conversation over the Internet.
