any ideas what the path is to the log files on W10.

got a message of an error, tried to read it then message dissappeared.

  If it is an error message from Avira, e.g. after a scan, you can download the LOGFILES under

  C:\ProgramData\Avira\Antivirus\LOGFILES

  under LOGFILES, the scans are set by date.
