after update avira free is not protecting the host file in windows 10
Hello!
I am using this wonderful antivirus since Avira was 'AntiVir'. I don't know how many years it is.. I have lost the count. Till date I never had any problem with this antivirus. It never messed up anything in my computer from Windows XP to current Windows 10 and as I am an user of Windows, with Avira installed in my PC, I was unworried about one thing for sure, which was 'Security'. I TRUSTED Avira with my life and could bet anything with anyone in the world to prove Avira 'WAS' number one. Why 'WAS'? Because today after update, the old, MOST TRUSTED 'Avira Antivirus' changed into new 'Avira Security' and the first thing it did, it has stopped protecting the 'hosts' file. It just looks and is functioning like the garbage antivirus AVG, which is unwelcome.... to me obviously.Tell me why is it so and how can Avira protect the host file just like old days and I can on/off that setting according to my need.
To the Developers: You should not change the FREE version so much. You should not totally remove the 'old settings' section entirely and we don't need these 'VPN', 'System Speed Up' craps inside this amazing antivirus and I think many users will agree with me. This new 'Security' thingy is for novice users. This is NOT WHAT I EXPECTED FROM AVIRA, Through this very long time I have installed and recommended countless people to use Avira and recommended organizations to purchase Avira Pro. How can I still do that now?! There is no way I can recommend this new 'Avira Security' to anybody. I and I think, many old users of Avira (Free) just like me, want the same old 'Settings' section and its access.
Thank you. Hope I have not violate any rule and have not disregard anyone, including Avira. If someone would get hurt by my words, I am apologizing for that in advance and I should let them know it is purely unintentional. Thank you all again.
Note: My sincere request to the management of Avira GmBH, please don't kill this amazing Antivirus inserting these VPN, System SpeedUp and other 'craps'. Let the 'FREE' Avira Antivirus remain as an Antivirus only, what it should be and sell your other products seperately. You can give banners and ads but please leave the Antivirus as it was... please... please .... please.
