After you have installed Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 Service Pack 1 (SP1) or have upgraded an existing Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 installation with SP1, Avira Exchange Security transport agent will not install correctly, rendering Avira Exchange Security non-functional.
However, this can be resolved with a hotfix provided by Microsoft.
Please refer to this article and apply/download the fix from there.
See which scenario applies to you and follow the instructions accordingly:
- New installation of Avira Exchange Security on Microsoft Exchange Server 2013
If you have not yet installed Avira Exchange Security on Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 with SP1, be sure to apply the hotfix prior to installation.
If the Microsoft hotfix has been applied after you installed Avira Exchange Security, you will need to install the transport agent again, e.g. with a repair installation.
- Avira Exchange Security already installed on Microsoft Exchange Server 2013
If you have Avira Exchange Security installed on Microsoft Exchange Server 2013 and you would like to upgrade to SP1, you will have to apply the hotfix afterward. Otherwise, the transport agent will not run.
