Why are my user data folders on winddows 10 marked as read-only?
TerminéeAll my user data folders (Documents, Music, Downloads, Videos etc) repeatedly are set to read-only attribute?
I have reset them manually, but it just comes back. Microsoft has suggested it might be to do with the anti-virus program I am running.
Which is the Free personal version of Avira Anti-virus.

Hello Stephen,
with the search engine of your choice, you can find various information about Windows "marked as read-only".
You are writing here in the Avira Community, a public forum, we have neither access to your customer account nor to your installation, see the Avira Community Guidelines:The digital assistant Mark pointed out, "I am here to help, but my assistance is limited to your subscription level." and "If you have an account, please log in for premium support services." A satisfactory response is only possible if you are logged in correctly.
Premium customers with a valid licence can contact the support team directly from the Avira customer account under "SUPPORT": via e-mail, support chat and (temporarily) telephone. We are an user2user forum, maybe someone here will read your post and can help you from experience. Thank you for your understanding.
Kind regards and have a nice Sunday

I raised it here because it maybe a function of Avria anti-virus to protect data.
It is a Free version, so I am unable to raise it as support query as Avria only answers paid for enquiries.
It is currently stopping me making backups of my data directories to a USB stick.
It hides the number of files and folders in the directory copied.
