Hello John,
Could you tell us if the printer is connected via USB or LAN?

Hi. I have tried setting up my XP-830 (Epson) printer both with a USB cable and wireless. I get a message saying "INVALID DRIVER" or "THERE WAS AN ERROR WHEN PRINTING STARTED. TO CHECK THE PRINTER SETUP, DOUBLE-CHECK THE PRINTER ICON IN THE WINDOWS CONTROL PANEL". What am I doing wrong? I have Windows Defender and also Avira Antivirus Pro on my computer. This printing problem started when Windows did an update back on October 9th.I am atwits end already. I also cant print from my HP printer and get the same messages there. HELP. Thank you in advance.

Hello John,
please check if the device protection is deactivated in the settings of Antivirus under PC Protection -> Device Protection. If yes, we can be sure, Avira isn´t the trigger for the problem.
Also, you said, the problem occurs after a Windows update. So it looks like, the problem is caused by Windows. In that case, you should contact the support team of Microsoft.
Another solution could be, to uninstall and reinstall the drivers of your printer.Best,
