    Hello Jonathan,

please try to uninstall Avira with the Microsoft Tool as described under the following link. After a reboot the installation should work:

    Hello,

did you perform the uninstallation as described under the other topic?

With that manual, it shouldn´t be a problem to uninstall Avira at all.

If that didn´t work, did you get any error message?

Having the same problem.  "Uninstallation as described under the other topic" is rather vague.  Would you please provide instructions to uninstall.  It should be a rather simple matter.  Avira is not actually a sort of virus, is it?  It reinstalled itself on me, as well (after I uninstalled some files, but could never uninstall the whole thing).  I wanted to download the latest version as the existing version is not working.  Now, I'm having second thoughts.

And, I can't download the latest version - I'm getting an error message that says my old version can't be removed.

Thank you.  I followed the instructions, downloaded the Microsoft tool, and uninstall was successful.  Downloaded the latest version.

    @ Tommaso,

    @ MA,

    @ Emili,

Your questions are inserted in a post that was completed and updated 1 year ago!
Below is a description of the problem from 4 weeks ago.

If the link from Windows does not work, maybe the link under DOWNLOAD by Toni Ruch, who inserted this link as a replacement for the Windows link, will help.

When this doesn't work, please be so kind and create a new thread with exact information about the Avira version and precise details of the OS - whether all updates... please provide as much information as possible.

If something is still unclear, let us know, we are happy to help.

Many greetings and a nice weekend

Thanks for the reply, but I have uninstalled everything by hand already. Toni's tool is not finding anything now. So my problem is solved. Thanks again.
