Avira app maximizing on system wake-up

My partner and I are both running Avira Free Security on identical hardware (Asus laptops). Avira normally stays minimized on mine, with alerts every couple days about the paid options that are available. This is fine. However, whenever my partner unlocks her laptop - whether booting up, waking up from sleep, or just because the screen saver kicks in - the Avira Free Security window will appear. Having to close this multiple times a day is rather annoying, and I cannot find any setting that controls this. How can we make it stay minimized unless called for?

I just uninstalled/reinstalled Avira and the problem went away.
