STOP This FCK Smart Scan Plz
This new version of Avira rly sux guys !!
I, like hundreds of other people, will not continue to use Avira unless we are given the option to disable this useless and annoying Smart Scan function.

Hello Michele,
the smart scan is a tool we already had in our previous Avira versions. Therefor, I think you must mean something else.
However, I'm confused what this might be. The smart scan is a tool which does not activate automatically - you have to perform a scan in order to start the tool.

Hendrik - I think this is what Michele is talking about, and I agree with her. Antivirus Pro runs in the background automatically and daily produces a yellow dot on the umbrella tray icon indicating it has detected something. To see what it has discovered you have to click the Smart Scan button. Invariably this is a waste of time because it is only a couple of cookies and registry entries. Personally I only want to be alerted if there is an actual threat! Can this pointless alert be disabled or made to just reflect an actual real threat?

Exactly, and at this point it is clear that they will not back their steps ... so for this I have switched to a much better antivirus (AVG) free of unnecessary spam warnings.

Wow, Avira really has given up. They are not even deleting mentions of competitors.
