Annoying host file blocked message constantly popping up

Hey there. So about a month ago, I installed a VPN that could be used to prevent my IP address from being tracked down and everything, and as I continue browsing, I've been frequently getting this message that says "For your security, access to the hosts file has been blocked". And it's been distracting me every time I try to concentrate on my web surfing. Is there anything I can do to fix this? Let me know when there is an accurate solution.
