After Avira setup, menu bar app still shows "Set up Avira Security"
RéponduHi,
I'm running macOS 11.4 (Big Sur) on a 2014 MacBook Pro. I recently had to uninstall Avira because I was trying to find a problem with Microsoft Outlook. I uninstalled it using the "Avira_Uninstaller.zip" command file. Now I've re-downloaded and re-installed Avira and have completed the setup procedure and have rebooted a couple of times. Despite this, the Avira menu bar icon still shows as a pointed/closed umbrella with a red dot beside it, and when I click on it, it displays "Your antivirus protection is off" (greyed out), and "Set up Avira Security". However, when I click on "Set up Avira Security" and then click on "Start Setting up" on the displayed window, the next window immediately displays with "Your antivirus protection is on". I then close the window but the menu bar icon still shows as a closed umbrella and red dot, and still says the same as before when I click on it (i.e. that my antivirus protection is off and Setup needs to be run). The various Avira processes seem to be running OK.
I've seen other, 2-year-old, reports of the Setup process repeating, but I can't see any solutions. Can anyone help with this, please? Thank you.

Hello David,
Below you will find a note about a BUG:
We are sorry for this inconvenience, we apologize for your increased workload.
If there is no change after a new installation, this display error will be fixed with the next update.
Unfortunately, we cannot provide any information on when this update will be delivered.
As a Premium customer with access to support, the support team may be able to provide more detailed information, but we do not have these plans here in a publicly accessible forum. The real-time scanner status display is not loaded correctly, although the services are active and protection is given. We hope that an update will be released soon, but we can only wait and see. Thank you for your understanding.
If anything is still unclear, please let us know, and we will be pleased to help. Many greetings and have a nice Sunday.

Despite the response in the forum, there is no fix for the issue (reinstalling and rebooting does not address the problem).
This bug is definitely making me question the quality of this company and its ability to address problems in a short time frame, I wonder if they would be able to respond to new malware in the time window required to protect our computers.

I am running Catalina 10.15.7 and am having a similar problem. Just purchased Prime on 7/14/21 and cannot get it to complete installation. After following set up instructions to allow Avira Security to access all files, etc., the set up never completes and the "All Done" button is greyed out.
I will seek a refund and choose another virus protection. After relying on Avira long enough to want to pay for it, this has turned me against this product -- especially after reading the comment above that an update is not forthcoming in the foreseeable future.
