Using Avira alongside Avast

I'm combining Avira with Avast, since I switched from Bitdefender Free to Avira Free, because I'm often the direct target of cyberbullies and hackers due to my actions on the internet.

I will only use Avira to block attempted attacks against my PC, and Avast against internet threats. How does it work exactly?
