Avira Security cannot be launch on Windows with .NET Framework under 4.7.2

We install Avira Free Security (intaller version: 1.0.26.3224) on Windows machines. But we found if the Windows has .NET Framework that lower than .NET Framework 4.7.2, we cannot launch it after installing. We will get "Something didn't work as expected. Avira has been notified and will find a solution as soon as possible."

If the machine has .NET Framework 4.7.2 or newer, the app can be launched as normal.

From your official site, it only mentioned Windows 7 with SP1 or above are supported, but not mention the needed .NET Framework version. And we check the Avira.Spotlight.UI.Application.exe file and it shows the target .NET Framework version is .NET Framework 4.6.2, so it should be launched as normal at least on .NET Framework version. Could you please check why it cannot be lanuched with .NET Framework 4.6.2, 4.7, 4.7.1?

Following are all environments we tested:

1). Windows 8.1 X64 with default .NET4.6.2: Fail

2). Windows 8.1 Server X64 with default .NET4.6.2: Fail

3). Windows 7 X64 with default .NET4.6.2: Fail

4). Windows 8.1 X64 with default .NET4.7.2: Pass
5). Windows 8.1 Server X64 with default .NET4.7.1: Fail

6). Windows 7 X64 with default .NET4.7: Fail

  Try enabling net framework 3.5 in windows features. Worked for me. They need to update their software so it works with the latest net framework.

  Hello - we had an issue with the previous version which caused the described behavior. We released a hotfix on 20th May to address this. The post above was published after that but we assume that you're still referring to this issue.

  Please make sure that you're using the latest kits and see, if this behavior still exists.
