Security breach?

I have had an email purporting to come from Avira asking me to click on various links and download software which will give information about only being able to access the free version when I have a subscription. I am worried this is from a hacker. I don't think Avira would be so irresponsible as to ask customers to do this.

  Thanks. I'm satisfied seeing it after logging in to the site as I would with a bank (rather than clicking on a link/replying to an email).
