    Hello Sarah,

    According to your description, it is obvious that something is wrong with your Avira installation. Unfortunately, you did not provide us with any information about your installed Avira version nor about your installed OS.

    You write here in a public forum, we have neither access to your account nor to your installation.
    Have you already performed a reinstallation? See for Windows:

    If there is no improvement, after uninstalling your Avira software, we recommend next step, an uninstallation:
    https://support.avira.com/hc/en-us/articles/360003162153-Uninstallation-of-Avira-for-Windows
    and after that, a new installation is recommended because there are failures to scan certain apps.
