Problem Reinstalling Avira
Hello
I have Avira Free Antivirus installed on a Windows 7 laptop, and I started receiving the error message "Avira has stopped working" when I tried to open the interface. I tried to fix this by reinstalling Avira but got the same error message.
I then tried to reinstall Avira manually, as per the Help article (https://support.avira.com/hc/en-us/articles/360002858514-How-do-I-perform-a-manual-reinstallation-of-my-Avira-Antivirus-product-), and I'm still receiving the same error message.
I tried using the Registry Cleaner several times, and I noticed that each time it was detecting registry files for Avira Connect, even though they had supposedly been removed. Could it be these files that are preventing the reinstallation, and if so, how can I get rid of them? If this isn't the cause, do you have any other suggestions? Thanks.

Hello Ian,
Do you get the error message on the installation process or afterward?
Does the error message appear when starting the program, or at an indefinite time?
A screenshot of the error message may also be helpful to help you better.Best,

Hi Dominik
The error message occurs shortly after I run the installation file. I've attached a screenshot.
Thanks

Hello Ian,
please check if the latest .NET Framework is correctly installed at your computer. You can find it under the following link:
https://www.microsoft.com/en-US/download/details.aspx?id=55170
Please install it, restart the computer and try the installation of Avira again.

Hi Dominik
I've installed the latest .NET framework and restarted, but unfortunately I'm still getting the same error message when I try to install Avira.
Thanks

Hello!
Sorry, how was this problem solved ??? because it happens to me now too. Thanks!0 -
Hi
It wasn't resolved unfortunately. I ended up buying a new laptop, as it was quite old and I was also having some other issues with it. Sorry I can't be more helpful.
