Avira is not starting - possible virus?

I have been using Avira for over a year, it has saved me from a lot, but now, it detected one virus, then sent it to quarantine. Well, my PC has been acting weird and so I am trying to open Avira to scan for a virus. Avira is not loading. It will load forever. This has never happened. Does this sound suspicious? Is there a fix to it?

I have downloaded the Avira software a half dozen times.. I get to the screen where you click on running a scan and the software does not respond. Online Avira suggests double clicking the file and running a repair but that option is not shown. Windows 10 .. I won't buy the Pro version if the free version will not even work... so I have a problem.
