Just a note to say I had a similar problem. I've been using the free Avira AV for over a decade, and the other day decided to finally upgrade to Prime. All seemed to be okay throughout the system so far, except any pages on the google.com domain (ie. search, docs, etc) are incredibly unresponsive on Chrome (current version, on Windows 10). Browsing any other site is typically smooth, but when I do a google search, there's about a 2-3 second lag between clicking a link or even hovering over one to wait for it to even register as a link. It was so bad, I thought my mouse was buggy or not working! :P However, disabling both of the automatically-installed Avira plugins (Password Manager & Safe Shopping) fixed that, and now Google searches are smooth.
Avira-folk: I wouldn't mind re-enabling those features if you could do a little QA on 'em? ;)
