Avira Free Security for Mac – unable to install on macOS 12.5 Monterey

Trying to install Free Antivirus for Mac and was following the instructions from Official Avira Support | Knowledgebase & Customer Support | Avira Mac Installation & Configuration | Mac Installation & Uninstallation

1.Double-click the downloaded Avira Security for Mac installation file.
The file is saved in the download folder by default.
2. Double-click the Avira Security icon and close the window.
3. Read the Avira Software License Agreement, and click Continue.
etc

However after step 2 get error: The application “Avira Security.app” can’t be opened.

I’m logged in as admin user and have been able to install other applications from dmg ok.

Any help would be appreciated.

  Unfortunately, we do not have access to your settings here in the public forum.
  Have you checked your settings again according to these instructions?

  Hi pascha45,

  Thanks for responding. 

  I’ve checked out the info in the link provided however as the installation process is failing after step 2 neither Avira Scan Service or Avira Security Helper are currently listed under full disk access.  However the full drive access list does contain Avira Services.app and this has the box checked.
