Error 5: Acess Denied when trying to uninstall the free version on windows 10

I want to uninstall the program because Avira found no viruses/threats, but when I go to open the uninstall file it fails to boot and I get an error message popup saying:

File "C:\Program Files (x86)\Avira\Security\unins000.dat" could not be opened. Cannot uninstall. 

Error 5: Acess is denied.

Please help.

  Edit: I did try to remove the program in a third-party program called Revo uninstaller, which also had a hard time running the .exe file. I also tried to run the .exe as admin, to no avail.
