VPN connection closes down my WiFi

Each time VPN automatically connects as I turn on my laptop, my WiFi connection is lost. This has been happening just recently (last 2 weeks). Disabling VPN solves the connection problem. This has only been happening since my last subscription renewal. Please provide some solution.... or I may need to change Avira product!
