    Hello Imtiaj,

Unfortunately, you have not provided any information about your installed Avira version. For certain Avira versions, you can proceed as follows:

RIGHT-click on the Avira screen in the taskbar
    ⇒ Switch off system protection
    ⇒ Select time selection

Please do not forget to switch on the system protection again.

There are also instructions in the Avira Knowledgebase & Customer Support:

What is the hosts file and why is Avira blocking the access? – Official Avira Support | Knowledgebase & Customer Support | Avira

We have been informed that you have already contacted support. The digital assistant Mark points out: "I am here to help, but my assistance is limited to your subscription level."  and  "If you have an account, please log in for premium support services."

Premium customers with a valid licence and correct registration can contact the support team directly from the Avira customer account under "Support": via email, support chat and (in some cases) by phone. You will -  after correct registration - receive further information from there, here in the publicly accessible forum, we do not have access to your customer account. The support team can exchange your concerns via email in compliance with GDPR.

If anything is still unclear, please let us know and we will be pleased to help.

Have a nice 2nd Christmas Day and all the best for the new year 2024

I have the latest Avira installed. I don't want to turn off system protection. Just want to access the HOSTS file access option where I could turn on/off HOSTS file access before.

Current settings doesn't have any of those options.

    Hello Imtiaj,

Unfortunately, we do not know how you used to be able to access the HOSTS file access option and switch it on and off.

You have contacted support, the Digital Assistant will point this out:  "I am here to help, but my assistance is limited to your subscription level." and  "If you have an account, please log in for premium support services."

Premium customers with a valid licence can contact the support team directly from the Avira customer account under "SUPPORT": via email, support chat and (in some cases) telephone. Please log in to support via your customer account, maybe someone from the support team can help you with a concrete answer.
    Thank you for your understanding.

    Best regards
