Seriously, Avira company, who do you think you are ?
This program is runnig on MY computer. MINE. Which belongs to ME not you, and I decide what I install or not !
The antivirus installed Opera browser without any consent of me, and after I removed it, and reboot my computer, it tried to install it again ! I do not care whatever commercial deals you passed with china and the Opera company, but when I decide to get Avira on my PC, it's not to get all its commercial partners with it !
Please make sure your program stops to install Opera ! I've reported it to the french authorithy of frauds DGCCRF anyway, this is against all european and french commercial laws.

I agree, I want nothing to do with that program. I don't like it. I won't use it. And you have not right forcing me to have it on my computer.

we provide our products for our customers in a free version. To let you enjoy the best experience with all our products (e.g. our browser extensions) we also provide you the Opera browser.
Of course, you should be able to uninstall it. How exactly did you perform the installation?
Please try the following to remove Opera
- go to your Avira Account and Remove your Device from the Device Page
- uninstall all Avira products and start the installation again
- afterwards remove Opera from the systemBest,

Opera is now being installed every time I start my PC, not only that but you cheekily make it MY default browser without any consent or permission.
This should be enough to see the demise of Avira!

I totally understand that this is annoying you so let's find a quick solution together!
Just to point this out again, this is definetly a technical error that we would like to solve together with you.
Further it is not in our interest to make you feel misunderstood nor helpless with the situation.
Please make sure you follow the steps my colleague submitted to you, otherwise we will have a hard time figuring out what went wrong with the uninstallation.

- free Avira antivirus for WIndows
- no Antivirus with Linux
- a paying Avira Antivirus license for Android.
I am quite shocked that Avira loads Opera without my consent. This is against Etiquette and for me, this is a shame. Is this even legal? Of course, I removed it but will consider other paying options for my mobile phone in the future. Because if you do this kind of things without any consent, what else are you doing?
I used to recommend Avira to many people but now I got a doubt about you. Doubts are not good.

yeah i immediately just uninstalled Avira when i saw it downloaded Opera onto my system without asking

This is entirely unacceptable to me as well.
I have been using Avira since at least 2012, both personally, and as an IT professional. I have recommended you products to both commercial entities and home users alike.
I consider Avira's move to forcibly install software along with the install of Avira Antivirus Free without notification to be reprehensible, and a violation of trust. While you now notify users of Opera being installed, you do not notify them of all the Avira programs that will be installed as well. In previous versions, all of this additional software was voluntary via the Avira control app, now it is shoved down out throats without consent.
Additionally, there is no longer appears to be a difference between Avira's free antivirus solution, and their free Internet suite product. Both are advertised as separate products, but the installs result in the same programs being installed. More deception.
If Avira will do this, what else will they do? If you can't trust the antivirus vendor, then you most certainly can not trust that their products perform only the functions they advertise.
I will no longer use, nor advocate the use of Avira products, and I will be advising my commercial accounts to do likewise as their current licenses expire.

With a little sadness, I left Avira today on my mobile and paid for another app. I have been Avira customer for so many years. Still can't believe that Avira installs software without user's consent. Where are the interests? Any link with countries out of Europe? So, I'll try to forget your red and white umbrella I was so much used at.
Good point: my messages have not been deleted by Avira moderators.
Bad point: never had any usable answer to my concerns.

It is unfortunate that the app with the additional features of this software no longer meets your needs. With the free version https://www.avira.com/de/free-security is shown, which applications are available in this version.
Have you ever tried to install only the applications you want by doing a new installation?
Please describe what bothers you about this version, perhaps we can send you instructions on how to install “Avira Free Security” according to your wishes.
We would be happy to receive your feedback.

Hello Avira People, I'm sure there are lot of great people working with Avira.
I know how to remove a program in Windows.Thanks.
My Point is: if you can install a program without saying or asking, then I don't know what you can do else.
Another point is: what is you advantage to "push" Opera, which is not universally considered as safe. I don't wont to polemic but you can find reasons of my concern on the web.
So, I don't trust Avira 100% anymore. That's a real pity because I've been promoting Avira to many friends for many years.
A question for you:
In your page https://www.avira.com/de/free-security , you don't mention anywhere that Opera is installed with the Antivirus. Is it still the case? If yes, why wouldn't you mention it?
You mention "In Deutschland entwickelt". Can you tell me that 100% of the free download contains German products? Opera, as far as I know, is not German...

I've been using Avira Antivirus for more than 15 years, always considering it the BEST antivirus over the place.
Now I see it has somehow "evolved", and behaves the same way as the malware it asserts to fight do, by installing applications such as Opera, a VPN client and other sevices I don't need or want.
I would expect to be asked for what "additional components I'd like to install, but no, no choice at all.
Do you only want the antivirus? OK, just take also Opera and all the other stuff along with it!No guys, you won't fidelize your users by acting like that!
I've been an Avira fan since the very beginning, recommending it to everyone I knew as the most reliable antivirus ever, but now I think my next recommendation will be to AVOID this new, "evolved", Avira.Such a pity.

Instead of it automatically installing Opera, it should have an optional check box during installation. "Optional: Install Opera"

I have been advising many people to use or purchase Avira for years! At least a decent number of them have purchased it since. And now I'm feeling ashamed that I advised them to do so! This is indeed a very bad move!
What bunch of fools have decioded to step into this? Or was it for the money? In that case it could end in a very negative experience.
