Real Time Protection

I've just downloaded free Avira antivirus download and it's installed fine except it says the real time protection is disabled. When I click Fix Now nothing happens; when I click on the RTP icon and switch it ON (was previously OFF) an error pop up appears saying 'Could not change service-state for guard to enabled.' 

I'm unsure of what this means, is this only available with Pro? Please help

  Maybe something went wrong during the installation process.

  Please try to perform a repair installation and check if this already solves the issue.

  Hello,

  After noticing that the real-time protection does not work and cannot be enabled, I uninstalled my previous Avira antivirus for mac, and I have installed the Avira free antivirus for mac again, but the real-time protection still does not work, and I cannot enable it, however I try: the button does not work, and when I try to unlock it, I receive an error message: Authentication of the configuration plugin failed.

  Moreover, the quick scan does not work either.

  I should have known this would be a garbage app nothing works properly and it has slowed my PC to a dial up speed.

  Real time protection my ass i even accepted your trial offer for 92 days and for 3 days ive tried to repair this garbage. Time to uninstall and warn everyone on all social media sites about this app and how hard it is to get in touch w a freakin human being to make it right. Lame app thats totally a waste of time cancel my subscription

  Choosing the _reinstall_ Option in the Avira Antivir Uninstaller has solved the problem: After the re-installation everything seems to be working fine now!

  HOW TO DISABLE PERNANET ANTIVIRUS REALTIME PROTECTION IN PC? THE VPN IS VERY UTIL TO ME, BECAUSE OF THIS I CANT UNINSTALL AVIRA SECURITY! BUT ANVIR IS VERY BAD... ALL TIME DELETING FILES THAT I DANT WANT, CAUSING MUCH PROBLEMS ALL TIME! EVEN PUTING IN EXCLUDING LIST (THIS IS ANNOYING, BECAUSE THEY ARE MUCH FILES)
