Can I still use my old unsed licence key?

Hello people. I have a licence key for Avira Internet Security Suite 2017 that I have not used. Is it still possible to use it?

  Well, it depends on how old this activation code (OTC) is exactly. So, activate this one inside your Avira account and see if it works.

  If it's too old, just come back to us and we'll see how we can exchange it.

  Hi, thank you for the quick response! 
  
  I tried to activate the code in Subscriptions > Activate new licence and got the error "The activation code has expired.".
  
  Is there anything I can do?

  If you still have your proof of purchase, it's might be possible that we're able to replace it.

  I received the CD with the activation code from a friend. He bought it from a store but i think he didn't keep the receipt as it has been years already. So I guess I won't be able to use the activation code?

  Sadly not, as we need a proof of purchase to exchange your outdated one. If your friend is able to provide one, we'll able to replace it.
