New installation - multiple restart and still it's not fully installed

I am installing Avira on my son's computer and already I have had to restart 10 times and it is nowhere near completing the install.  What is up with that?  What exactly do I need to do to get the program installed?  This has now taking me over 2 hours to install.  There has to be a better way.

  Hello Sharon,

  It would be helpful for us if you could tell us which version of Avira it is. Which operating system is installed, maybe some technical data...
  Where did you download the installation file from? Did you install from the customer account?
  Did you follow these instructions:
