Avira installer continues multiple times to install and restart

Recently purchased Avira Internet Security product under account xxxx@xxxxx.xx. When installing it in my windows 2016 server (standard Ed), the installer continues to install, restart, reinstall in a loop. I am unable to cancel/kill the installation. Why?

  We're really sorry but our desktop version of Avira isn't designed to run on a Microsoft Windows Server operating system. So sadly, we cannot provide you a solution for such cases.
