DON'T DOWNLOAD LATEST UPDATES for El Capitan Avira - Latest Avira update deactivates scan!

I'm running Avira on a MacBook Pro with El Capitan and after downloading the latest virus updates the scan tool now DOES NOT WORK.
Be advised the latest set of updates now freeze the scan tool and when performing a scan it will come back with a scan complete but for 0 files.
Please advise.

The latest update make impossible to do any archive scan.

Could you please be so kind as to give us the exact version number El Capitan, i.e. exact information about your installation, e.g. macOS 10.15 Catalina or higher:
On Mac Devices you need at least
macOS 10.15 Catalina or higher
Any operating systems below that are not really supported any longer, sorry.
