This is extremely poor advice and support, the actions advised by Lukas Huptas simply do not work and this problem still persists.

It is absolutely shameful for Avira to allow this problem to go unresolved for well over a month now.

Antivirus products are an essential security product needed to keep us protected.

It is a complete disgrace that the technical staff have not fixed these security issues with the utmost urgency.

I have indeed lodge formal requests for technical support and their advice has not worked either.

We still do not have a timeframe for when this mess is going to be fixed.

The official Avira representatives completely ignore all the Avira users complaining about this very long stand issue.

To make this matter even worse it is reported this issue occurs repeatedly after macOS operating system upgrades, this has not happened repeatedly with other macOS antivirus products.

People who pay for a premium product such as Avira Prime truly deserve good customer service and rapid resolution of security issues.

Avira has simply let done all of its paying customers and left us all feeling quite frustrated and extremely angry at such such shockingly bad customer service.

IT IS INEXCUSABLE FOR SECURITY ISSUES TO BE LEFT UNRESOLVED FOR OVER A MONTH.

Avira well and truly deserves to lose the majority of its Avira Prime customers.

A mass exodus of angry Avira Prime customers will give Avira a big wakeup call that paying customers will not tolerate long delays in getting technical support issues fixed.

Another Prime customer having issues, today I noticed the umbrella was not opened and a red dot. So, I go to 'Setup Avira Security' and go to Privacy settings, both avira settings are highlighted already. The next button is still greyed out. Please fix this, I hate not having my security on my mac left vulnerable.

This is happening to me too! Only noticed the red dot by accident. I don't know how long I've been without virus protection, and there doesn't seem to be a workaround. I've tried revoking the access. Regranting. Restarting the computer. Nothing works.

FINALLY, was able to make that stupid dot to disappear and again reinstalling(took 4 tries) and then instead of two Avira services to allow access, but THREE. After that, was finally able to set up security.

    Hi Amy,

Could you please provide further very specific detailed instructions on which THREE Avira services require full disk access.

I have personally tried all other suggestions here and none have worked.

I was able to get it fixed. It took several tries after downloading new software to get it to install correctly. I suggest Avira correcting the help section when there is an issue and avira can't run. On the Help section it just says to go in Privacy and highlight Avira Scan Service and Avira Security (which were checked off--another annoyance), but Help failed to also add Avira Security Helper (which popped up after the 3rd try to install). Once that was in place, I was able to continue with the setup.

    Hi Amy,

I did everything you suggested, but the key factor which got Avira functioning normally was rebooting my macOS Catalina in Safe Mode(Hold down the shift key while rebooting.).

After checking Avira was completely functioning as normal in all aspects.

That means I can now finally use the remainder of my Avira Prime subscription with full protection.

But I most certainly will NOT EVER use Avira again.

Long delays in getting technical issues fixed are unacceptable when you are depending on Avira to protect your mac.

I sincerely hope they face a mass exodus of Avira Prime customers due to the extremely poor customer service we have encountered.

Yes, agreed.  Even though I fixed the issue myself (I did contact support as well), Support has yet to reach out to me. Not very comforting after paying for a Prime subscription. That is why I got prime, so I would also get support. Silly me..

I got a Bad Request (#400). How do I fix this issue? I hope by the time two months goes by I won't be charged.
