is it possible to downgrade from anti virus pro to the free version when the yearly payment is due or do you need to uninstall and start over?

  Yes, you can change from the Pro license to the Free version.

  The Pro version has additional applications that are switched off after the licence expires. After that, the Free version continues to run automatically. It does not need to be reinstalled.
