Smart scan keeps saying Outdated apps

Seen many posts about this issue (like VLC)..
Had the same..
Fixed by doing a Windows Uninstall of VLC, and re-install..
Looks like Avira is not really using the module version - may be using a registry entry?
My guess is VLC is not updating a registry entry on an update ..
Just a guess..

Yes, there were difficulties with VLC, see also the information from VLC, starting with version:
https://www.videolan.org/vlc/releases/3.0.12-update.html
It may well be that VLC has now made changes to the installation, supposedly fixed since 3.0.16

This also happened to "Notepad++" - uninstall/reinstall fixed that software too.

Side note.. There where some microsoft Software names being reported by Avira, that did not match any actual MIcrosoft install -- I took a swag and installed something with the same release (and partial name) and that also fixed the out-of-date software - So I will blame Microsoft for having inconsistent names!

I'm a new user to Avira... I see this happening for numerous apps on my system.
E.g. Apple Software Update, WinMerge, Bonjour, VC++ 2015+, Notepad++
These have been updated. Also, while I have not updated my WinZip, I do not want to!
So... what can I do? I like that Avira shows these... however, it would be nice to empower me manage it better.

- Avira license? (Free or paid, exact version)
- Installed Avira Apps?
- WinZip? (normal and important are current apps?!)
Normally, you can choose which apps should be updated.
Without exact information, it is unfortunately not possible for us to help you with the settings of your apps or with instructions.

I have a paid version of Avira 1.1.51.20724 installed on Windows 10 21H1 (Build 19043.1147). I believe that I have only Avira Prime installed.
The software that I have listed are showing as out of date. However, when I check the application itself, the version installed is indeed the version noted by Avira as the "New Version". In each case, I have indeed updated the software. As mentioned, the only software I have NOT updated is WinZip.
