Avira Prime VPN not staying on

I recently upgraded to avira prime. Under privacy VPN there is supposedly a box to click on to keep VPN always on.  However every time I log out VPN gets turned off.  Is there a way to truly keep VPN always on so I don't have to reconnect everytime I log back in?

  Have you installed the following instructions accordingly
  Start the VPN function of your Avira Security for Windows together with the operating system – Official Avira Support | Knowledgebase & Customer Support | Avira
