Avira Free Security Version 1.1.59.25531 - blocking my Brother scanner

Hi, 

I have a Brother multifunction printer/scanner, and Avira allows me to print over wifi, but Avira is blocking me from scanning over wifi.  When I turn off Avira Real-time Protection and Firewall, I can scan over wifi.  How can I add an exception for my Brother device so I can scan over wifi?
